lpv:spoken text	"I supported the roadworthiness package as I believe that on the whole it will enhance road safety across the EU. I am disappointed that we lost amendments to exempt caravans from MOT testing as I feel there is little evidence to indicate that the present system is not working. However, I am pleased that we managed to secure support for the tractor exemption and for an increase in the threshold so that trailers under 2 000 kg would not be subject to MOT testing. I supported calls to make motorcycle testing obligatory across Europe and I am glad that other countries will now be required, as is the case in the UK already, to test regularly motorcycles. I believe the roadworthiness package will improve safety for vehicles on our roads and for that reason I voted in favour."@en1
