Creating a roadmap to effectively combat crime in the EU and worldwide is of utmost importance. Organised crime is widespread and in order to tackle the various types of crime, e.g. cyber-crime, money laundering, illegal gambling, etc., we need EU-wide action. The cost of corruption in the EU stands at around EUR 120 billion per year and I believe that this is money that could be better used towards creating economic growth and tackling unemployment."@en1
