"I voted against this report as recent examples such as the horsemeat scandal demonstrate that an EU presence in a consumer protection area is totally ineffective. The report claims that the level of enforcement of consumer protection needs to be uniform throughout the EU in order for market surveillance activities to be effective. In my opinion, this is yet another example of the EU attempting to take control over the everyday life of my constituents."@en1
