"I was happy to vote in favour of the progress report on Macedonia. The High Level Accession Dialogue (HLAD) has started with the aim of dealing with the main issues surrounding accession without formally opening negotiations. Progress has been made in around 75% of the policy areas defined, but further efforts are needed to strengthen political dialogue, guarantee the impartiality and independence of the judiciary, and tackle discrimination. The people of Wales feel solidarity with other small nations across the world, and we must do what we can to help encourage peace, conflict resolution and progress both at home and abroad."@en1
