It is now a country of immigration rather than emigration. The government is debating a new constitution to try to achieve agreement with the Kurds and bring an end to armed resistance. I have worked closely with the Kurdish people as does Plaid Cymru, the Party of Wales, and we support their right to self-determination. I voted in favour of this report with its recognition of the Kurds in the hope that it will assist in the process of peace and democracy."@en1
