We clearly need to find new ways, within the health and social care budgets, to cope with the ageing demographic whose challenges we all need to see. I am proud to say that, in my own constituency of Northern Ireland, we are leading the way in relation to the e-health agenda and our participation in the innovation partnership. In Northern Ireland we are using technology to assist patients and healthcare professionals to better manage health and social care, which is leading to improved patient care and easing the burden on our hospitals. However, we are doing more. We are also linking these advances in health and social care to our economy with real opportunities for jobs and growth."@en1
