The accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the EU’s customs union resulted in an increase in some tariffs beyond the level to which they had bound themselves at the WTO. Both countries therefore have the right to compensation. It is important that we respect the position of new EU members, particularly as we wish to see Wales as a Member State in its own right in the future."@en1
