"This boils down to a single seat debate and, like the overwhelming majority of MEPs, I believe that Parliament should have its seat in a single location. This is the best setup both in economic terms and in terms of limiting the detrimental effects on the environment brought about by commuting between the two seats. It is for the same reasons that I am opposed to the proposed increase in the number of part-sessions in Strasbourg this year. We simply cannot justify the additional costs to the taxpayer associated with these additional visits to Strasbourg. It is for these reasons that I voted against the proposed changes to the European Parliament’s calendar for 2013"@en1
