lpv:spoken text	"This annual report on the EU’s strategy on human rights and democracy examines how the EU can improve its work in these areas, and I fully support its findings. It calls upon the EU to step up its efforts to liaise with civil society rather than merely focusing on contact with authorities and to maintain its work with institutions such as the UN and the ICC. The EU should take advantage of its substantial global influence and assume responsibility on human rights issues, which is why I voted in favour of this report."@en1
