"The external dimension of the common fisheries policy encompasses many areas, such as bilateral fisheries agreements and regional fisheries management organisations. Furthermore, several issues are not regulated by European Union law and therefore fall into a ‘grey zone’. Accordingly, in the reform of the common fisheries policy, we should aim to promote the long-term sustainable development of the sector, obtain high-quality scientific opinions, and ensure better governance and management of financial aid for the sector. For those reasons, I voted in favour of the document."@en1
