A new technical conservation measures framework is expected as part of the reform of the common fisheries policy (CFP). Given that this new framework will probably not be implemented before the end of 2012, it is appropriate to extend the application of the transitional technical measures. I would underline the importance of continuing to support the conservation and adequate management of biological marine resources.
