It is not entirely insignificant that it should be a German coordinator of the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) and a German coordinator of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament who are now saying that measures must be taken, while Germany has regularly said: ‘Let us avoid any problems with China, let us avoid any trade war with China!’. The European Parliament is therefore united, Commissioner, in calling on you to accelerate the procedures. We must save these jobs.
