lpv:translated text	"I support Ms Thyssen’s report for its inherent merit and more still for its political and institutional expediency. It proposes drawing attention to the necessity of the European Parliament’s involvement in the process of promoting Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). As regards the report presented by President Van Rompuy, which launched the debate on banking, fiscal and economic union, the position expressed by Ms Thyssen’s report is one of openness, which makes a welcome distinction between amending the Treaties and the involvement of all the Member States. I think that Ms Thyssen and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs have done an excellent job, and I therefore voted in favour."@en1
