"Children are increasingly more exposed to digital media through television programming and internet access, raising concerns about internet safety and harmful online content. Ms Costa’s report on protecting children in the digital world seeks to establish precautions at the European level and to encourage Member States to adopt initiatives as well. By focusing on education and integrating digital media into schools, the school system can provide access for all children while teaching them how to use new media safely. Certainly, digital media has become an integral part of society, and it is necessary for the EU and Member States to show dedication to regulating its safe use and allowing all citizens to have access, which is why I voted in favour of this report."@en1
