According to data in the report, young Europeans spend up to 40 hours a week in front of the television and are online 88 minutes a day. Although the use of digital media is nowadays a fundamental tool for learning and information, the truth is that the internet presents numerous risks and threats, especially for younger users: violation of privacy, the commercial or other use of their profiles, health dangers, dependence phenomena, a distorted relationship with reality and their own identity, and sexual exploitation and child pornography. As a parent, I know how difficult the task of parental control of computer resources is, so I think that it is essential to establish a framework of rights and governance to end the fragmentation of legislative provisions currently existing in the field of human rights, protecting privacy, combating sexual abuse, audiovisual media services and e-commerce, in order to protect children in the digital world, as proposed by the rapporteur."@en1
