"European and Italian manufacturers are at last benefiting from the simplification of European legislation. The regulation adopted today replaces more than ten existing Directives on the subject. Today’s vote shows that we are striving for a safer Europe with better protection of the environment. The proposal introduces stricter rules on safety and emissions for two-wheeled vehicles, as well as improving the functioning of the internal market. The new regulation will enter into force from 2016 and will cover all two- or three-wheeled motorised vehicles from powered cycles to the most powerful motorcycles."@en1
