". This report, which I supported, aims to rationalise the process of translation within our institution. Translation plays a key role in European democracy by making the work of Members of Parliament accessible to every European citizen. Nevertheless, in order to make savings and, given the introduction of audiovisual recordings of the proceedings with interpretation into all official languages, debates will no longer be translated in written form. Nevertheless, the content will remain accessible online at all times and in all the working languages of the European Union via the videos of debates in direct translation. Modern technologies are thus enabling us to make savings."@en1
