lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of Mr Zwiefka’s report because I believe that judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters constitutes a fundamental legal basis in view of the objective of strengthening the single market. This Regulation is important because, while it lays down civil and commercial provisions at EU level, it establishes with certainty which court will have jurisdiction for settling cross-border disputes. Another positive aspect of the report is the decision to maintain mechanisms that protect the rights of defendants and consumers, in line with the principle of protecting the weaker party."@en1
