lpv:translated text	"Having regard to the fact that Regulation (EC) No 44/2001 laid the foundations of a European judicial area, it has served citizens and businesses well by promoting legal certainty and predictability of decisions and is used as a reference and a tool by other instruments. The recast of this Regulation is therefore of considerable importance because it eliminates some of the difficulties encountered in the last ten years in this sphere. Bearing in mind that the abolition of for all civil and commercial judgments is a significant step forward in access to justice for all citizens and businesses, and while underlining the need to improve the effectiveness of arbitration agreements in order to give full effect to the will of the parties, I voted in favour of the proposal."@en1
