". I support this report, since I think that the Brussels I Regulation provides clear rules for access to justice and is of major significance for citizens and businesses. In an ever more globalised world, in which European citizens live and work outside the European Union, it is essential to protect their fundamental right of access to justice as well as to avoid discrimination on the basis of domicile. I would also point out our efforts, as members of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, to introduce proposals for a new rule on jurisdiction for disputes concerning industrial action, for individual work contracts, for disputes concerning the infringement of privacy and the right to legal personality. These proposals strengthen an essential aspect since, beyond the simple rights of citizens in a globalised world, we also need to examine labour disputes and their socio-economic consequences for workers, so that in this way we shall be moving towards a fairer Europe."@en1
