"The next item is Question Time to the Commission and I would like to welcome Commissioners Tajani and Andor. The topic today is: Boosting Europe’s industry for growth and jobs. I will interpret this topic as widely as possible, but I should warn you that if your question is completely off the topic and deals with the common agricultural policy, for example, you are liable to be cut off.
I will just remind you of the rules. Questions are taken exclusively on a catch-the-eye basis; each Member has one minute to put his or her question and after the Commission’s reply has the right to put a supplementary of 30 seconds. The Commission has two minutes to reply if only one Commissioner is to be responsible for answering, and if both want to reply today each Commissioner has one minute of speaking time. The officials on either side of me have been catching your eyes and we will produce a list broadly in proportion to the group size. We are going to finish at 12 noon and we are now running some 25 minutes late."@en1
