lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I would like to speak about what took place in Latvia on 1 November 2012 when the Central Election Commission decided to reject the application for a referendum aimed at solving the mass statelessness problem in Latvia. It was the first case in more than twenty years of Latvia’s history when a draft law supported by more than 10 000 signatures, certified by notaries, was not officially submitted to the next stage as a state-organised collection of signatures. We regard this case as a threat to democracy in Latvia. The absence of official status for the Russian language and mass statelessness are a cornerstone problem for the Russian speakers in Latvia and I invite those colleagues who want to learn more about this issue to attend the hearings of the Intergroup for Traditional Minorities which take place this Thursday here in Parliament before the vote."@en1
