"Mr President, I am not surprised that the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy unanimously approved an oral question and debate on this matter, because the issue of European industrialisation, or indeed re-industrialisation in certain areas which have abandoned industry, is crucial for the future of the Union, for its progress and for innovation.
I believe that this matter that we are going to debate should prompt us to talk about the steel problem, particularly in certain regions in Europe, but also about the industrial programme for the future of the European Union. My group would be in favour of a resolution provided that it is actually approved at the next plenary sitting in December."@en1
