".
The Members of the European Parliament wished to welcome the significant progress made in the election process during Georgia’s parliamentary elections, but it is also important to note that there are still some shortcomings. There was visible progress in the area of freedoms in particular, allowing for very active and dynamic participation by the citizens and a campaign that was contested, even if it was polarised. We always have to show strong support for the promotion of democracy and reforms in Georgia. That will be possible if those elected, be they in government or in the opposition parties, exercise their democratic privileges in a responsible manner and continue to make progress on the reforms, for the benefit of the Georgian people."@en1
