". The renewal of the Energy Star programme in the European Union on the basis of the Agreement between the US Government and the EU on the coordination of energy-efficiency labelling programmes for office equipment, enables the energy performance of office equipment to be improved. I cannot but welcome a project that will lead to high levels of energy saving, along with reduced costs and lower CO emissions. The Agreement also includes the creation and implementation of tools for promoting energy efficient office equipment, improving market transparency and enhancing users’ awareness of energy efficiency. Energy Star’s high environmental standards and the positive results it has achieved in past years are the reasons I voted in favour."@en1
