lpv:translated text	". I voted in favour of this report because in 2000 the EU and the US signed an Agreement on the coordination of energy-efficiency labelling programmes for office equipment. This Agreement aimed at improving the energy efficiency of office equipment was renewed in 2006 and expired in 2011. The Council authorised the Commission to negotiate a new Agreement continuing the Energy Star programme for a third period of five years. These negotiations were concluded in November 2011 and were recognised by both parties as effective and successful, promoting energy efficiency. Circumstances therefore permit the conclusion of this Agreement."@en1
