lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I too would like to congratulate Ms Mazzoni on her work on this very detailed report, and Mr Diamandouros on his work in 2011. I also welcome the fact that the total number of complaints submitted has gradually decreased. Furthermore, the Ombudsman has succeeded in dealing with the majority of cases of maladministration in the work of EU institutions. In addition, I believe that the fact that the Ombudsman is striving to reduce even further the number of complaints which do not lie within his remit is to be appreciated. The information provided to this end is clear and precise and is intended to guide complainants in the right direction. At the same time, the new approach is also intended to change the procedures, to make them much more accessible to citizens. At the same time, I would like to welcome the fact that there is close cooperation between the Ombudsman and similar bodies in the Member States."@en1
