lpv:translated text	"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, in order to relaunch the single market, which is a key element in realising the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy, I think it is important to step up the strategies for reviving economic growth and employment, and winning the confidence of citizens and businesses. I support the report because it emphasises the gap between expectations and reality, which is often the cause of growing concern, for example about tax obstacles, energy costs, and payment of VAT. At a time when citizens are eyeing Europe with mistrust, we need to improve cooperation between the EU institutions and the Member States in order to promote competitiveness, creating new jobs and contributing to research and innovation, and to territorial cohesion, in order to protect our businesses and high quality products. For example we need to harmonise energy costs, which are the largest outgoings for many businesses, in order to create a single European market."@en1
