lpv:translated text	"Madam President, Erasmus grants have enabled three million European students to access exchanges for training and living alongside others that have helped to improve our professional and linguistic skills. I myself, like other young Members of this House, benefited from such a grant in the past. Erasmus has extended equality in education because it has also given many of us as young people the opportunity to go abroad when we otherwise would not have had the resources to do so, as this was previously a privilege reserved for the children of rich families. We are aware that there are differences in the amount of the grants, but I would like to ask the Council and the Commission how many students are affected and how it is going to be ensured that those students receive 100% of their grants. During this time of youth unemployment it is more necessary than ever that we back education and training and back the programme that symbolises the European Union, because Europe does not make sense without Erasmus."@en1
