"SMEs are the heartbeat of the European economy and I am very pleased that we are placing them centre stage. The suggestions contained in this resolution will go a long way, if implemented, to helping SMEs help the European economy on the road to recovery and prosperity. If every SME in the EU added one more staff member to their books, the unemployment crisis would disappear overnight, so it is incumbent on us across all sectors to provide an SME-friendly environment, particularly in relation to COSME, Horizon 2020 and access to credit."@en1
