"I voted in favour of the report on the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF): application EGF/2011/019 ES/Galicia Metal. The EGF is designed to provide additional support to workers who have been made redundant as a result of major structural changes in world trade patterns and to assist their reintegration in the labour market. I strongly support this initiative, which allows us to help Spain, and the region of Galicia in particular, to deal with huge job losses (450 redundancies) in the shipbuilding sector since its application meets the conditions for deploying the EGF."@en1
