The harmonisation of air traffic management would allow aircraft to take the shortest routes and thus offer passengers a means of transport that is cheaper, safer and kinder to the environment. The Single European Sky Air Traffic Management Research programme (SESAR) must not be neglected. We must encourage the deployment of new technologies for information exchange and satellite navigation systems. It is important to remember that this would create no less than 328 000 jobs.
