"I voted in favour of the report on the financial rules applicable to the annual budget. This new Financial Regulation seeks to establish and clarify the principles governing the establishment of the European Union budget. Several important changes are envisaged with a view to optimising and modernising use of the budget by the European administration on the one hand, and the Member States on the other. Consequently, the European Union will be able to purchase property through loans, while the Member States’ use of the Structural Funds will be better supervised."@en1
