".
The European Union must respect the commitments it has made now, including the payments related to these commitments. Any non-compliance could affect the credibility of all the European institutions, not only of the European Commission.
The Union is searching for solutions, including financial support, to reduce the effects of the crisis and to develop different projects – investments in strategic areas for economic growth and job creation, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and transport networks, to name just a few – so it is desirable not to get into a situation where the EU cannot respect its commitments or honour legitimate requests for payment."@en1
