lpv:translated text	"Mr President, the ALDE Group did not sign the resolution on the case of Ramil Safarov, and I shall vote against this text today. It did not sign because the text is something that may escalate the existing conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh. The territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions is internationally recognised as belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan, and that should also be the basis for the position of the European Union. The absence of any results after 20 years of work indicates that the Minsk Group needs a reshuffle. In order to find a balance in the negotiation process, France should be reinforced by the European Union, which, in my view, has an historic chance to try to resolve this very frozen conflict, showing its knowledge and experience in negotiations. The European Parliament remains committed to the developments in the South Caucasus, and its Member States are aware of the huge potential of Azerbaijan. The constructive partnership between Brussels and Baku entails reciprocity and commitment to shared values."@en1
