"Mr President, I would just like to say a few words to support what some of my colleagues have said, especially my colleague, Ms Lochbihler. Neither the government nor the political opposition have taken a clear public stance in defence of the victims. We must thus express our appreciation for those Burmese citizens who have raised their voice in support of the Muslim minority and the pluralistic society. It is imperative that the Burmese authorities stop arbitrary arrests of Rohingya, provide information about the whereabouts of hundreds of people detained since security operations in Rakhine State began in June, and immediately release those arbitrarily arrested. Finally, there is also an urgent need for the government of Burma to provide the UN agencies and humanitarian non-governmental organisations unhindered access to all areas of Rakhine State and guarantee unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for all affected populations."@en1
