"Mr President, the Rohingya Muslims are one of the world’s most persecuted minorities and, although the human rights situation in Burma has improved otherwise, the situation with regard to the Rohingya minority has only worsened. Furthermore, what is astonishing about this case, at least as far as I am concerned, is that the human rights activist, Aung San Suu Kyi, someone who is celebrated and greatly respected throughout the world and in her country too, has kept completely silent regarding this matter. All the same, this is a violation of human rights that is happening in her country. One would think that she, as someone who enjoys such prestige, could and would want to say something about it, so that the situation might improve. I think that Aung San Suu Kyi, who has received the Nobel Peace Prize, could also speak up about this issue, and the EU, of course, should also do what it can."@en1
