However, this sector is fragmented in the European Union and we need to remedy these shortcomings by harmonising legislation across all Member States. I think that more attention needs to be focused on regulating venture capital investments in the green technologies sector. This is an important factor contributing to economic recovery, also bearing in mind that the European Union’s prime objective is to hold on to its position as global leader in terms of energy resource efficiency. Therefore, adopting legislative regulations which provide an incentive for investors will definitely attract venture capital in the green technologies sector."@en1
