lpv:spoken text	"This legislation, which has my full support, will simplify and accelerate the process through which farmers apply for an EU quality label. At present, the Commission aims to respond to such requests within twelve months; under this new law, the registration time will be reduced to just six. This will benefit both farmers and consumers alike: a speedier and simpler registration process will encourage more food producers to register their products with quality label schemes, which will, in turn, allow consumers to make more informed choices about the food they buy. In addition to this, there is a new label recognising the value of foodstuffs produced in mountainous areas. Overall, this resolution is instrumental in ensuring that farmers are able to promote the quality and authenticity of their products to consumers more effectively."@en1
