lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of this report because the need for an EU policy strategy for the Atlantic area is clear. The strategy will be launched in 2014 and will receive European, national and regional funding. It is also very important to stress that in 2012 and 2013, public and private Atlantic partners will be involved in the preparation of an action plan. The Atlantic area is characterised by specific problems, which go beyond national borders and require answers for the whole of the Atlantic seaboard. In essence, the strategy is aimed at promoting the sustainability of the Atlantic’s resources, and properly controlling human activities to safeguard the ecological balance. This strategy is also aimed at opening up the Atlantic regions, promoting the competitiveness of industrial sectors and improving the response to certain risks and other emergencies."@en1
