lpv:translated text	"I believe that the conclusion of an agreement between the European Parliament and the Council concerning the forwarding to and handling by the European Parliament of classified information held by the Council on matters other than those in the area of the common foreign and security policy is the right way forward. This agreement is a vital instrument enabling Parliament to exercise its powers and perform its functions fully, especially in the context of the provisions of the Treaty of Lisbon, which extended the powers of Parliament in the area of international agreements. The agreement contains detailed definitions as well as levels for the categorisation of classified information sent between the Council and Parliament, security measures relating to persons, as well as a procedure for obtaining access to classified information and for its protection. In addition, the fact that the agreement also sets out specific rules for the transfer of classified information to Parliament by the European Commission is also worthy of note."@en1
