lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I consider that a regulation on the European venture capital funds is of paramount importance in a Union which has the ambition of becoming the most innovative economy in the world. This regulation contributes to that end. By laying down uniform rules, it is instrumental for the good functioning of the internal market. This regulation draws a proportional balance between the needs of our economies and macro-economic prudence. More than ever, we need simpler rules in order to support innovative ideas and daring start-ups. By voting in favour, I express my support for everyone in the EU who has viable projects but who does not necessarily have the funds to finance them readily available in their Member State. This is especially true in the case of the new Member States, where there is no lack of bright ideas whilst the funds are not always within reach."@en1
