I hope that these proposals will improve the existing complex system, and that this will be a step in the right direction, although it will certainly not be the last. As we all know very well, European agriculture provides us with a wide range of foods produced using many different methods, which consistently respect the environment and rural communities. It would be helpful if both farmers and consumers in particular were aware of the special characteristics of home grown food. Such a quality-oriented approach is bound to help strengthen the presence of high quality products both in domestic and international markets."@en1
