Less time is devoted to victims of crime, and their rights are forgotten. I therefore welcome today’s decision by the European Parliament to change this state of affairs. My main objective as Minister for Justice was to give priority to the rights of victims, the rights of ordinary people over the rights of thugs and criminals. I hope this decision will be implemented as soon as possible, and that Member States will finally guarantee full protection of victims of crime."@en1
