lpv:translated text	"I voted for this report, which was presented on the symbolic date of 11 September, and which allows us to remember and pay homage to all of the victims of crime, along with their families. Europe needs a common and transparent justice system, and should ensure that the rights and protection of victims of crime are strengthened. This Directive constitutes an important step in the construction of a European area of freedom, security and justice. All victims of crime, regardless of the degree of damage suffered, are covered by this directive and should be offered support and protection within their country, as well as in the other Member States. Closer interinstitutional cross-border cooperation is essential, including the effective sharing of information and best practice."@en1
