lpv:translated text	"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank the rapporteurs, Ms Jiménez-Becerril Barrio and Ms Parvanova, and Ms Reding for the excellent work they carried out in conjunction with the relevant committees. As emphasised by everyone who has spoken, this directive finally places the onus on the victim, the person, the citizen. I am referring, in particular, to the most vulnerable victims, the victims of gender violence, and especially minors who are victims of crime, who often suffer what is known as ‘repeat victimisation’. This directive will give greater power and effectiveness to other measures such as, for example, the directive on the sexual exploitation of children and child pornography on the Internet, for which I was the rapporteur for Parliament, which endorsed the absolute need for support and protection for minors who are victims of sexual abuse. Therefore, this new directive completes a process of justice and law that will strengthen the value of citizenship."@en1
