Establishing maximum sustainable yield (MSY) thresholds will allow rational use of fish stocks and the creation of a stable, long-term strategy for this sector. The introduction of protection measures concerning such issues as the discards ban or the landing of all fish in port will have a positive impact on the ecosystem of fishing areas and the survival of endangered species of fish. The common fisheries policy must also contain provisions to ensure the elimination of threats such as piracy or poaching. Full integration of the CFP with other policies, such as environmental policy or cohesion policy, will make it possible to increase economic prosperity throughout the European Union, particularly in regions where the economy is based, in large part, on this industrial sector."@en1
