lpv:translated text	"‘Education and Training 2020’ (ET 2020) is the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training and builds on the earlier ‘Education and Training 2010’ (ET 2010) work programme. The joint report on the overall situation in education and training across the EU, which is published every two years by the education ministers and the European Commission, reveals the need for smart investment along with policy reforms, and more efforts to reach the Europe 2020 headline target on early school leaving and tertiary education. It also states that for the majority of EU citizens, lifelong learning is not a reality and affirms the need for transnational mobility for acquiring new skills. In the hope that these areas will be confirmed as priorities for European cooperation during the next ‘ET 2020’ work cycle (2012-2014), I voted in favour of the proposal."@en1
