"I support this report because I do believe that economic growth must be based, as a matter of priority, on education, innovation and appropriate social policies. I also share the opinion that the economic costs of educational under-performance, including school drop-out and social inequalities, are significantly higher than the costs of the financial crisis. For these reasons, these issues require an adequate public funding to guarantee equal access to education without any kind of social discrimination. In addition, it is fundamental to bear in mind that providing all children with quality early-childhood facilities and education is an investment in the future and provides a great benefit both for the individual and for society."@en1
