"I voted in favour of the own-initiative report on women’s working conditions in the service sector. We are accustomed to hearing that women are under-represented in decision-making positions and that there is a large gender wage gap. Little progress has been made, however. Today, 80% of women work in the service sector: we need to concentrate the legislation concerning this sector in order to begin to improve working conditions. Moreover, the Member States must urgently put in place user-friendly evaluation tools for the various jobs in order to make wage equality a reality."@en1
